AHAHBBBA. John Adelbert Dake
John was born on July 4, 1906 at Mt. Auburn, Ia. to parents Floyd R. Dake and Blanche F. Meskimen. He married Pauline Trego on July 2, 1927 at Independence, Ia. and was later divorced. He lived for a period of time at Central City, Iowa where he farmed and for a short time was Justice of the Peace. He was married a second time to Retha Betzer and was divorced. He was a salesman for Farmers Supply Co. in Vinton for many years retiring in 1971. After retiring he moved to Port Charlotte, Florida (He married third time to Ethel Davis on May 6, 1961.) He was a resident of Palm View Care Center in Port Charlotte, Fla. from March 1988 until his death on Oct. 10, 1988. He was buried on Oct. 13, 1988 at Evergreen Cemetery in Vinton, Ia.

Obituary for Pauline (Trego) Dake

Pauline Dake 94, a resident of The Meth-Wick Community , died Monday Nov. 3, 2003 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long and happy life. Services: 1 p.m. Thursday, Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion by the Rev. Nick Longworth. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial: Spring Grove Cemetery rural Coggon.

Survivors include her children, Raymond (Rosemary) Dake of Fairfield, Evalyn (Ron) Moorehead of Maple Valley, Wash., Mary Lou Bell of San Antonio, Texas, Dorothy (Dean) Locke of Coggon, Lois Sparks of State Center, Iowa, Delbert (Elizabeth) Dake of Marion, a sister Marie Kothman of St. Cloud, Minn.: 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grand children and a great-great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, three grandsons and a great grandson.

Pauline was born March 31, 1909, the daughter of Sherman W. and Henrietta (Bogle) Trego in rural Shellsburg. She was proud to have been a farmer her entire life.

Pauline was an active member of Spring Grove United Methodist Church in Coggon, a member of the Farm Bureau, was a conselor of MYF, and cooked at YMCA Camp Wapsi for many years. Pauline was a member of the Linn County Dairy Herdsman Associaton.

Karl was born on Dec. 1, 1965 at Tacoma, WA to parents Delbert Gene Dake and Elizabeth Lucille (Donovan) Dake.

Christopher was born on Dec. 29, 1966 to to parents Delbert Gene Dake and Elizabeth Lucille (Donovan) Dake.

AHAHBBBAAC. Mathew Delbert Dake
Mathew was born June 6, 1971 to parents Delbert Gene Dake and Elizabeth Lucille (Donovan) Dake. He joined Wertz & Leehey, P.C., in January, 2000, after engaging in general practice in both Nebraska and Des Moines, Iowa. He is a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and graduated with honors from the University of Northern Iowa, earning a degree in Business Administration with a Communications minor. Matt earned a law degree from Creighton University in 1997, graduating Cum Laude and ranking in the top 15% of his class. While at Creighton, Matt was selected as one of four participants to represent Creighton University at the National Jessup International Moot Court Competition.

Matt was admitted to the Iowa Bar in 1997. He is a member of the Linn County Bar Association, the Iowa State Bar Association, and is a member of the Iowa Trial Lawyers Association. In addition to practicing in Iowa's state courts, Matt is admitted to practice in federal court in both the Northern and Southern District Courts of Iowa. matt represents a diverse group of clients in matters relating to both workers' compensation and personal injury.

Raymond was born on Dec. 16, 1927 in Eden Township, Benton Co., Iowa to parents John Adelbert Dake and Pauline Trego. He was married on Aug.27, 1950 to Rose Mary Long. He lives in Fairfield, Ia.

AHAHBBBABDA. Brooke Lynn Dake
Brooke was born on March 29, 1983 to parents Bruce Dean Dake and Susan (Johnson) Dake.

AHAHBBBAC. Evelyn Mae Dake
Evelyn was born on July 4, 1930 at Vinton, IA to parents John Adelbert Dake and Pauline Trego. She married Ronald Keith Moorhead on Feb. 13, 1960 at Cedar Rapids, IA. They had children: Paul Jeffery, Jerry Lee, Thomas Alan Moorhead. They live in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Mary Louise was born on March 9, 1933 to parents John Adelbert Dake and Pauline Trego. She married John Arther Bell on July 17, 1951 at Ft. Hood, TX and they were divorced in Feb. 1972. They had children: Michael G., and Gordon J. Bell. She lives in West Des Moines, IA.

Dorthy was born on Aug. 23, 1936 at Taylor Township, Benton Co., IA to parents John Adelbert Dake and Pauline Trego. She married Dean Russell Locke on April 3, 1955 at Coggon, Linn Co., IA. They had children: Mark Russell, David Allen Locke. They live in Coggon, IA.

Louis was born on July 28, 1942 at Taylor Township, Benton Co., IA to parents John Adelbert Dake and Pauline Trego. She married Francis Childs on Dec. 30, 1960 and they were divorced on April 8, 1972. She married a second time to John Wilber Sparks. She had children: Kirk, Kelly DeArliss and Sara. She lives in State Center, IA.

Nancy was born on Dec. 23, 1951 at Eden Township, Benton Co., IA to parents John Adelbert Dake and Pauline Trego. She married Bob Edwin Pasker on May 29, 1971 at Manchester, IA. They had children: Jennifer E., Tiffany S. Pasker. They live in Marion, IA.

Jenny was born on Nov. 21, 1952 to parents John Adelbert Dake and Retha Betzer Dake. She married Tim Whitney. They had children: Crystal and Shannon. They live in Ankeny, IA.

Penny was born on Nov. 21. 1952 to parents John Adelbert Dake and Retha Betzer Dake. She was the twin sister of Jenny Dake. She married Michael Colby and they have one son Chad Colby. They reside in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

AHAHBBBAJ. Evan D. Dake
Evan was born on March 30, 1960 in St. Lukes Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa to parents John Adelbert Dake and Retha (Betzer) Dake. He lived in Central City, Iowa and later moved to rural Vinton, Iowa. He married Cindy Janice Lay on Oct. 21, 1989 at Springtown, Texas. They were divorced on Oct. 22, 2002.

Lawrence was born on Aug. 21, 1908 in Benton Co., Ia. to parents Floyd R. Dake and Blanche P. Meskimen. He married Charolette Williams on April 22, 1931 at Anamosa, Ia. They lived on a farm near Brandon and later moved to Vinton. He was a carpenter until he moved to Port Charlotte, Fla. He currently lives in Pt. Charlotte, Fla.
